John Madden, a professional football icon who was a Hall of Fame coach and broadcaster, died Tuesday morning. He was 85.
The NFL did not detail a cause for his unexpected death.
Madden was known for broadcasting interjections such as "Boom!" and "Doink!" He was the face of Madden NFL Football, one of the most successful sports video games of all time.
