The city of Joplin is in the running as home base for a planned battery manufacturing plant.
Joplin-based AEsir Technologies Inc., the newly formed operating arm of parent company ZAF Energy, is considering 21 U.S. cities for the project.
Other cities competing for the plant include Wichita, Kansas; San Antonio; Reno, Nevada; and Rapid City, South Dakota.
