Maersk has been unseated as the world's largest shipping company, according to data from shipping analytics firm Alphaliner.
Data show Mediterranean Shipping Co. ended Maersk’s 25-year reign.
Alphaliner reports MSC owns or charters enough ships to carry the equivalent of 4,284,728 shipping containers. Maerk has a capacity of 4,282,840 containers.
