Florida-based Roundhouse Services and Storage intends to refurbish a 25,000-square-foot building on 30 acres into a transloading facility, according to a news release from the Missouri Department of Economic Development. The location was not listed in the release, and DED officials could not be reached for comment by deadline.
"After running similar successful operations in Arkansas, Kentucky and Montana, we felt that Missouri would be a great choice for our next venture as it has so many resources to offer,” said Bert Cohen, president of Roundhouse Services and Storage, in the release. “Our business, steel pipe storage and transloading, fills a gap that has been lacking for some time in the Midwest and central regions of the United States.
"We feel the greater Springfield area is centrally located and has a wonderful mix of talented people and great infrastructure."
Roadhouse Services and Storage LLC was organized with the Missouri secretary of state's office on Jan. 13 by Bennie Cohen, of Bal Harbour, Florida, and Tim Hollon, of Springfield.
The company is utilizing incentives through the Missouri Works program, which offers withholdings or tax credits in exchange for facility expansions and new jobs, according to the DED website.
