Glide Xpress
Roughly three years after opening its first car wash location in the country, Glide Xpress debuted April 23 in Springfield at 3015 E. Sunshine St. Texarkana, Texas-based Glide Xpress Principal Group is owner of the car wash chain, which has opened six shops in four states since April 2020, according to its website. A second Springfield location opened in July at 211 W. Battlefield Road. Additionally, the company’s website indicates nearly 30 more locations are coming soon, including one in Branson. Glide Xpress spokesperson Christopher Barrett declined to disclose startup costs for the newly constructed 4,175-square-foot Sunshine Street shop, which replaced a shuttered U.S. Bank branch. He said Micah Sprague is manager of the seven-employee car wash. Glide Xpress offers single washes beginning at $10 and sells unlimited car wash plans for $25 and $30 per month, Barrett said. Customers also have access to vacuums and high-pressure air hose drying stalls at no charge for both Springfield shops.

Jenkins CPA
A second location of accounting firm Jenkins CPA LLC opened March 16 at 426 U.S. Highway 60 West in Republic. Owner Heather Jenkins, who started the company in 2001, said startup costs for the new office were $720,000, including purchase of the 2,500-square-foot building now dubbed the Jenkins Executive Center. She said the building previously was home for Ozarks Screen Printing. The office staffs three bookkeepers, and Jenkins said the company plans to add a second certified public accountant and operations manager. It also will have two seasonal tax preparers and an operations clerk staffed at the location during tax season. Jenkins CPA offers business consulting, bookkeeping, payroll, tax consulting and preparation, marketing and insurance services for businesses and individuals. Jenkins said she was looking to add a second location for some time, and Republic stood out for its growth and need for more CPA services. The firm also has a Nixa office at 204 Village Center St.

Soozeezbeez Honey Beetique
Nearly 2-year-old retail shop Soozeezbeez Honey Beetique LLC made a move on July 21. Now at 320 E. Commercial St., the business owned by Susi Caregnato relocated from its original home at 200 E. Commercial St. Previously leasing space, Caregnato said once her new location became available, she purchased the two-story building for an undisclosed price from owners Karen Schaefer, Irene Schaefer and Marty Corcoran. The building’s previous owners had opened retail shop Footbridge Trading Co. in 2018 but closed the business earlier this year, Caregnato said. Moving costs were $2,000, she said, adding no renovations were needed. The four-employee shop sells pure raw honey and over 20 infused flavors, including pumpkin spice and peanut butter. Soozeezbeez also carries handmade items, such as balms, candles and soaps, as well as bee-themed kitchen and laundry products. Caregnato said she continues as a vendor at the C-Street City Market, held April-October.
