Protests erupt after police shooting of Black man near Minneapolis

Protests broke out on Sunday after 20-year-old Black man Daunte Wright was killed by police near Minneapolis.

Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, police say the man had an outstanding warrant and got back into the vehicle when they tried to take him into custody. An officer shot him when he reentered his vehicle, police said.

Brooklyn Center is 10 miles north of Minneapolis, where the area already is on edge amid the trial of former police officer Derek Chauvin, who faces murder charges in the death of George Floyd.
