Put Your Best Face Forward at Bentley Skincare & Wellness

Posted online
Bentley Skincare & Wellness (BSC&W) sets itself apart from other aesthetic practices in the Midwest by offering a combination of individualized anti-aging medical and aesthetic surgical services.

BSC&W is the only Aesthetic & Wellness facility in the area that is owned by a former research assistant for the prestigious Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine. Clementine Bentley has a degree in Biology from UMKC and an M.Ed. from Drury University graduating with honors. She received her esthetician license in 2017. After fulfilling the obligations of military service, she and her husband moved back to her home state of Missouri. When Clementine took over the day-to-day operations at BSC&W more than five years ago, she recruited Dr. Brendon Delport, DO, a fellowship trained oculoplastic surgeon.

A culture of kindness
The staff at Bentley Skincare and Wellness have advanced training in aesthetic medicine and are members of the American Academy of Antiaging Medicine. This is what keeps clients seeking out the advice of their highly trained estheticians and surgeons.

Leah Currence summed up what it’s like to work at BSC&W like this, “Bentley Skincare & Wellness is a unique opportunity and environment to learn and grow beyond your current career skill set. There is always something new to be learned in the health and wellness industry and we believe in letting our employees spread their wings to diversify their knowledge. Everyone has potential that we would love to see unlocked, and the team aspires to see you achieve it with endless and thorough support.”

“My wish is that every staff member knows how invaluable their presence is at BSC&W, and I want them to constantly blossom in mind, body and spirit during their time with us,” said Clementine.

Real world experience
Clementine helped fulfill the dream of a previous employee, Cristy Rodriquez, whose goal was to be a make-up artist in a feature film. She and Cristy did a special effects and makeup demo for an award-winning screenwriter, E.B. Hughes, writer/director of “Exit 0”, “Turnabout” and “The Long Way Back”, at Beverly Hills Film Festival.

Clementine was then hired by Mr. Hughes for his upcoming film “Wrong Way Out,” to head the special effects and makeup department, and later became one of the executive producers of the film. “Wrong Way Out” is a crime thriller starring producer/actor Stellio Savante who also can be seen in “Under the Stadium Lights” with Laurence Fishburne, “110 Stories” with Samuel L. Jackson and Katie Holmes, “Infidel” with Jim Caviezel and Claudia Karvan, “The Chosen” with Jonathan Roumie, and “Ugly Betty” with Salma Hayek, just to name a few. The film also stars Corin “Corky” Nemec who can be seen in “Stargate SG-1” and played Ted Bundy in “Bundy: A Legacy of Evil”.  The film also features Hannah Fierman, known for “V/H/S” and “Creepshow” and Randy McDowell, who can be seen in “Elvis” and “Justified” and Deborah Twiss who starred in “Kick-Ass” and “A Cry from Within”.

Clementine brought in local small businesses and artists to help with the pre-production and created a Springfield based special effects team consisting of Dan Rockafellow of Rockafellow Photography (crime scene photographer), and Matt and Ladonna Stevens with Associated Theatrical Contractors (special effects advisers). “They were invaluable in getting me ready with the critical thinking skills I needed to be prepared for anything when my team headed out to the east coast for 22 days of filming.” She then posted a call for artist for an actor/film student. Clementine’s production company, Anywhooski, was flooded with CVs. After interviewing many candidates, she chose two students from the Springfield, Missouri area, James Hurt Rice, a first-year film student, as special effects assistant for the Springfield and east coast film units. James was so invaluable that that when the script supervisor came down with Covid, James stepped in and now has an IMDB credit as the script supervisor for the film. Clementine chose Hadleigh Callahan, a recent actor graduate as project coordinator for the Springfield unit special effects team and her PA. She brought in fellow BSC&W esthetician Alexis Erwin, LE, to be the body double in the crime scene photos, which were shot in Springfield. “One of the challenges was we had a certain window of time with lighting and weather to anticipate how a scene would be filmed and try and match the body double for the east coast film unit. It was so cold the day of the film shoot, and we also had to recreate a sandy beach outside in the middle of Springfield. This is something that can’t be learned in a typical classroom setting,” Clementine laughed, “and I definitely could not have done this without the rest of the strong team at BSC&W, Briana Barnes, LE, Leah Currance, Dr. Brendon Delport and my husband, Dr. Anthony Bentley, DO.

Taking time to give back
BSC&W likes to get together as a team to decide where they will donate products and has given back to individuals in need and local animal advocates SAAF, WOW, SWI, and to Harmony House by donating services, products and time. Taking care of staff in mind, body and spirit is always top of mind as well.

Looking to the future
Clementine’s goal for BSC&W is to continue providing clients with the relative ease of being able to make an appointment, sometimes the same day, with a fellowship trained oculoplastic surgeon and the highly trained licensed estheticians and to assist team members in their critical thinking skills needed in continued education in the complicated and evolving field of aesthetic surgical services and anti-aging medicine.
