St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner announced she would resign from her office.
Gardner cited plans by the legislature to pass a bill that would strip her of most of her power and “permanently remove the right of every St. Louis voter to elect their circuit attorney.”
Gardner came under fire earlier this year for her office's alleged missteps involving a crash that caused a visiting volleyball player to lose both her legs.
