Taiwan’s National Palace Museum is making ready to evacuate its holdings in case China invades.
Last week, the museum conducted its first-ever wartime response exercise, which focused on saving around 90,000 of the relics in its 700,000-item collection, prioritizing those of highest value and those easiest to move.
The National Taiwan Museum, the National Museum of Taiwan History and the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts are also working on evacuation plans.
