U.S. Sen. Roy Blunt, R-Missouri, left, visits earlier this month with Kimberly Wade of the Kids Shouldn’t Have Cancer Foundation. Officials at the nonprofit say Blunt secured $50 million for pediatric cancer research in the fiscal 2020 federal budget. The funding is part of the president’s childhood cancer data program that proposes $500 million over 10 years toward pediatric cancer research.
