The Modern Barn Mercantile
Lot 7, West Elm Street, Ozark
Torgerson Design Partners LLC is the architect for a 5,400-square-foot project for The Modern Barn Mercantile in Ozark off of Highway 65. The building will be available for small boutique owners to rent booth space. Officials say the design concept takes inspiration from Magnolia Farms in Waco, Texas, by utilizing heavy timbers, whiteboard and batten, stone and glazing. A general contractor has not been selected. Engineering work is provided by CPWG Engineering Inc., civil; J&M Engineering LLC, structural; and Schober Engineering LLC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing. The project is expected to be completed in September 2021.
Plaza Shopping Center gained an arcade with the March 1 opening of The Flying Lap LLC; the repurposing of space operated by Burrell Behavioral Health resulted in the March 18 opening of the company’s second autism center; and a group of downtown business owners teamed up to reopen J.O.B. Public House.
