Then: Executive Director, Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks
Now: CEO, Morelock Builders & Associates Inc.
A transition from leading a cancer-focused nonprofit to CEO of a construction company may seem odd, but for Crystal Webster, the shift feels natural.
When she was a 40 Under 40 honoree, Webster, 48, had served as executive director of the Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks for over two years.
In September 2019, Webster left the nonprofit and became CEO of Morelock Builders & Associates. She says she received some exposure to the building industry in the past, partly through her father who was involved in construction.
She also was pursuing a master’s in health care administration in 2010, which she earned.
“There’s a solid business underpinning in that education,” she says. “It’s interesting that I still use some of the health care element in what I do now. We have one over-55 project that is completed and another in the works, so interacting with people who may have mobility limitations and special needs has ended up being part of what I do now.”
