Nixa Public Schools Performing Arts Center
514 S. Nicholas Road, Nixa
Nixa Public Schools Performing Arts Center is one of several projects the district is asking voters to consider supporting on April’s ballot. With fine arts being one of the school district’s priorities, officials say a new 1,000-seat auditorium would provide students a professional theatrical space and double the capacity of the current auditorium. The facility would be built on the northeast corner of the high school campus. The project also would include renovating the current auditorium to allow for expansion of the band and choir programs. Dake Wells Architecture Inc. has been selected as the project architect.
Plaza Shopping Center gained an arcade with the March 1 opening of The Flying Lap LLC; the repurposing of space operated by Burrell Behavioral Health resulted in the March 18 opening of the company’s second autism center; and a group of downtown business owners teamed up to reopen J.O.B. Public House.
