2024 40 Under 40: Brandon Jenson

Missouri Department of Economic Development

Posted online

Brandon Jenson has made quick work of his young career.

Jenson, who turns 30 this year, currently serves as Community Development Block Grant program manager for the Missouri Department of Economic Development. He has experience as a planner with the Southwest Missouri Council of Governments and in community and economic development for Adams County, Colorado.

In 2023, he was elected to serve as the Zone 3 member of Springfield City Council.

“I am extremely humbled by the opportunities I have been presented with in my relatively short career and proud of the impacts I have been empowered to have on those around me. Advancing within the span of three years from local to regional to statewide impacts is not something one sees often, especially for someone of my age in government,” Jenson says.

He adds, “Through each of these experiences, I have sought to not only grow myself as a leader but to recognize how my decisions allow others to grow into their own futures while also advancing the interests of those we serve.”
