2024 40 Under 40: Matthew Sibet

Reliable Toyota-Lexus-BMW-Audi Superstore

Posted online

At age 18, shortly after moving to Springfield from California, Matthew Sibet started working at Reliable Superstore, where he quickly transitioned from managing car rentals to selling cars. Later as general sales manager, he sparked a deep-seated love for the automotive industry. This cumulative experience has laid the foundation for his ambition to rise through the ranks, fueled by a vision to one day own and operate a dealership.

His dedication and hard work paid off when, in 2023, he was accepted into the Berkshire Hathaway Automotive Dealer Academy, a program designed to prepare future leaders of the automotive industry.

Sibet, 37, also seeks to foster positive change through leadership roles in the Greene County 100 Club and the Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks, where he serves as a board member.

Your first job? I started as a cashier and then selling women’s shoes at Nordstrom in Brea, California.

Best piece of advice you’ve ever received? Make a decision even if it could be wrong. You have to be able to make decisions in life and learn from them or you cannot grow and develop as a leader.

Favorite book? “Unreasonable Hospitality,” by Will Guidara.

Favorite local drink order? Any version of the espresso martini from Good Spirits & Co. Close second would be Lake Break from Mother’s Brewing.
