Grandfather’s Post War Lessons Carry On
My grandfather was a WWII vet who lost his left arm in the war. When he arrived home, he told my great-grandmother not to cry because some of his friends did not make it. He was the most kind, compassionate, and generous person. He taught me the importance of taking time to get to know people and building relationships. He taught me to always have a positive attitude and never say the words “I can’t”.
When I started at Penmac Staffing 25 years ago, I learned that Penmac had the same philosophy. I watched our founder, Patti Penny, care about each person who walked in the door, believe in what they could achieve, and do everything possible to help them gain successful employment. Her drive, determination, and commitment to success continue to inspire me every day.
Penmac is about building people up and giving them the opportunity to succeed. Penmac has numerous top female leaders because they provide the guidance and tools to allow us to take our performance to the next level. This gives us the confidence and ability to be a leader in our role, a leader within the organization and a leader in our community. Learning from other leaders is a part of the journey to learn who you are as a leader. But it is a journey—always keep learning, growing and inspiring others.
