Project description: Convoy of Hope’s new distribution center features a precast concrete and steel frame designed with decorative metal wall panels and aluminum and glass features. The first building phase will bring 50-75 of the nonprofit’s employees on site, while providing designated volunteer workspaces. The building includes 20 shipping and receiving docks and two additional docks for a disaster services center. Buxton Kubik Dodd Design Collective is the project architect and mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineer, with additional engineering work by Lee Engineering and Associates LLC, civil; Miller Engineering PC, structural; Anderson Engineering Inc., geotechnical; and Alaback Design Associates Inc. (Tulsa, Oklahoma), landscape.
Plaza Shopping Center gained an arcade with the March 1 opening of The Flying Lap LLC; the repurposing of space operated by Burrell Behavioral Health resulted in the March 18 opening of the company’s second autism center; and a group of downtown business owners teamed up to reopen J.O.B. Public House.
